2018: Marching Band

About mid-summer you start to hear marching bands practice outside.   I love to hear and watch them as I am a Jackson High School Marching band alumni.  This year is super special because my daugheter, Lily, is a freshman percussionist.   I put myself and Wahl Art Photos out there and offered marching band photos for members at a reasonable cost.  I was thrilled to photograph about two dozen kiddos andmeet so many new families.   Here is just a few shots from Jackson and well as Perry!

2018: Matt - Jackson High School Class of 2019

Matthew:  Jackson High School Class of 2019
I had the pleasure of meeting Matthew at East Coast Martial Arts.  He is a 2nd degree black belt and has also been leading classes.  Both of my children have been coached by him. He's kind, patient and knows his stuff!

We dodged rain drops this night, but still found the light!

Kick boxing is also a big part of Matthew's training.  So of course we needed a few shots of that.

2018: DeRosa/Hollis Wedding Part 1

I was so very honored with my friend and client Becky asked me to photograph her wedding.  I am not a wedding photographer and do not inspire to be one. There are so many details and so much pressure to get everything perfect.   However, this was a special case, and I was thrilled to have the experience.

You would probably recognize Becky and Dutch from family photos I have taken here, here, here and here.  The wedding was very intimate held at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens.  Beautiful June day and you'd never know that it rained all morning!

First, the beautiful bride Becky.

The Groom, David, or Dutch as his friends call him.
The ceremony: The couple had the idea to make a 10 year time capsule.  They each, along with their four children, added something into the capsule that signified something of importance to them at the time.

The reception was at Twisted Olive.  Snapped one last photo of the new Mr. & Mrs. Hollis.
Stay tuned for Part 2: The family

2018: Madeline and Ryan

Madeline and Ryan were just smiling ear to ear during their engagement photos.  They are planning a fall wedding on her sister's property.
We also snuck in a little family session with Ryan's three children.

Congratulations.  Can't wait for the wedding!

2018: Karate Kids at East Coast Martial Arts

We had another round of Karate Kid photos at East Coast Martial Arts this month. East Coast has also added a Kids' Jiu-Jitsu class three times a week.  Sisters Abby & Addy are showing off their Jiu-Jitsu gis in black and pink.   This duo are girl scouts, singers, dancers, do tons of charity work with their awesome parents....all in addition to Karate and Jiu-Jitsu all week long.
Abby and Rory are also sisters wearing their Jiu-Jitsu gis.  Abby just earned a new belt in Karate too, and Rory is a fierce soccer player. They are both girls that you don't want to mess with!
There is nothing cuter than the Kefalas kiddos.  Harrison has his red belt, Arianna brown tip and Johnny has his orange belt. They all train together.
Ian has held his tenacity for years and is on the road to his black belt.
Chloe is also a karate kid who has been enjoying Jiu-Jitsu.
I snuck in a few shots of the instructors that were teaching and training that day.
